I posted a few weeks ago about stopping hormonal birth control to see if my libido would improve. May 1 was my first day without the Ring (not counting the week before my period which was part of the usual cycle) so I am now 21 days "hormone-free."
No big changes to report - I was really hoping my drive would come "roaring back" as Jill put it - but I think I'm less depressed/weepy which is nice. My breasts (nipples) have been extremely tender, ie it hurts when my shirt rubs on them, for the last couple of days but I read that this is normal around ovulation and can be more noticeable as the hormones work out of my system. Does this make sense?
I also read that giving up caffeine would help. Give up my morning (afternoon, evening, before bed) cup of tea?? Do I hafta??
Also had a good session with my fiance and our premarital counselor. The counselor was very encouraging that my libido WILL come back - that my anxiety about it is probably not helping! She gave me some tips to help reduce anxiety. So overall, I think things are better. I'm definitely not going back on the Ring or Pill any time soon.

Tea caffeine is different than coffee caffeine.. And I personally think it depends on how much the caffeine affects you, because like any other chemical, everyone is affected differently.
I have learned how coffee affects me and there is no way I can drink it in the evening or if I am sitting still (like at work). Tea on the otherhand.. I drink all day long and also right before and have no problems with falling asleep.
Is it a specific tea that you drink (caffeinated) or is it just a hot drink?
If it is just a hot drink, you could always find a decaf or herbal tea that you enjoy..
It may be a little early yet.
