Hi, I am new here and looking for advice. I have been on the pill for 3 years now. I had breakthrough bleeding with my very first pack of pills (Mircette). My doc changed my pills (to Ortho-Cyclen)and I was "normal" for a while, then started having breakthrough again. She changed my pills again (to Tri-Sprintec) and I was normal for exactly a year. In December 05 she changed me back to Ortho-Cyclen. I March 06 more breakthrough, she upped my dosage and was put on Necon 0.5/35. The parmacy gave me Necon 1.0/35 and I took that for a week until I realized I was on the wrong meds. (Hot flashes, unable to sleep, edgy, etc) I immediately changed to the 0.5-35 and was "normal" in April. I had breakthrough again almost 2 weeks before my scheduled period this month (May 06). I is always in the last week or week and a half of the pack. I should also mention that I had my wisdom teeth removed at the end of April and then had a UTI the next week. I was on 2 different types of antibiotic (Clindamycin 150mg for the extractions and Bactrim x5 days for the UTI). My doctor told me to try this pill for another month before we change again due to the BCP overdose and all the other meds I had taken. Normally all I take is a daily allergy med, daily multivitamins and my BCP. Any suggestions? Any advice would be appreciated.

All of the pills you've taken with the exception of Mircette are at the lower end of progestin activity (how strong the effects of the progestin are).

I have taken the Necon 0.5/35 again this month. I am due to have my period on the 30th of this month. So far, so good. The only thing I have noticed is a little cramping off and on this month. Nothing severe, just a little "tinge" of pain occasionally. Hopefully, this month will be on schedule. I'll keep you posted as to this month's outcome. Thanks for your advice.
