I have a mail order prescription service, which I use for my bcp's. It is cheaper, and you can get a few packs a t a time.I know alot of other people whi use it to. After reading teh post about where you keep your pills, I am starting to worry. Is letting go through the USPS unsalfe. I worry about temperature changes, having them sit in a mail truck all day, or in my mailbox before i get home to check the mail. is it safe or i should i not be getting my bcps shipped?
thanks

I worried about the same thing, until it occurred to me that retail pharmacies get their meds from the manufacturers the same way. And, if those packs of food (you know, the kind with beef sticks and smokey cheez...and the butter mints....I love those things...oh, sorry, having an "Over The Hedge" moment, there...) then most meds should be fine. I did a quick Google search of "safety" and "mail order pharmacy", and the only concerns were about places that actually *prescribe* meds without a doctor's visit, not places that just *fill* valid prescriptions. The only place that mentioned tempereture and meds was a mail-order pharmacy associated with AARP that said tempreture sensitive medications would be shipped in a chilled container, but that's meds that *require* refridgeration, not those, like the pill, that can be stored at room tempreture. I would think that if there was a problem with such a common medication, we'd have heard something about it on the news.

I agree with the others--pharmacies aren't receiving their medications in a refrigerated truck (as far as I know).
