Ok, I've been on depo for 5 months now. I have gained 20+ lbs. I feel I just keep gaining weight and no matter what I do it won't stop. I exercise regularly and I eat healthy but nothing works. It's gotten so bad I only eat one very small meal a day. I'm totally losing my mind over this. If anyone has the same problem or knows of an effective way to shed off some of this weight, PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I've been on depo for a year. The first 6 months i was on it i actually lost 10 lbs. Then gained about 15. My OB told me that it was possible it was from the depo but also with someother things going on in my life. He told me to start watching what im eating, since depo makes you hungry. And to start excersicing. I've lost half the weight so far and havent had any problems. My bestfriend is also on depo and hasnt been able to lose the weight she's put on from it. Everybodies diferent. I hope you can find something that will work for you.

I was on depo for 6 months and I lost a ton of weight. I also lightly bled for over 100 days (which was when I stopped the depo and went back on bc pills). It sounds like your metabolism may have slowed down. Eating less than 1000-2000 calories could be very dangerous, so you may need to talk to your doctor about that. Have you tried eating mini meals during the day? I gained weight (for other reasons) and found that I was eating too little! I had to speed up my metabolism and the mini meals worked great for me. If you are excersizing you need to be getting plenty of nutruients also protein as soon as you're done working out. Try mixing and matching to find out what foods work for you. For me eliminating cereal (all cereal), rice, bread, potatoes, sugar (as much as possible) plus adding tons of veggies, nuts (especially soy nuts), fruit, yogurt - all really helped! Everyone is different though. Also, drinking ONLY water and plenty of water can help. I found cereal to be my biggest enemy because I love it and ate it a lot. Also, staying away from most dairy (except milk) really helped. Good luck! I hope you find something that works for you!
