Hi Jill,
The gyn wrote out a prescript for Ortho Cyclen21d. I'm able to skip the period week taking the pill continuously of each pack and then after a few months go off one week for my period to come then resume. She said if I have break-through bleeding the first three months just to continue, BUT after that if I still get break through bleeding then to STOP and have period for one week and then resume. She said this bc pill will help with my moods- I also told her I'd rather not have a period so she told me and wrote out the rx this way. I forgot to ask her about I'd like an increased sex drive (I basically have no sex drive). Do you think this new pill will help with that? Also, I have two "old" pill packs remaining and just started a pack of the "old" kind (kind I'm on now...and have been). She said I could stop those packs and start this new one to see if my mood changes. She said though I could skip the period weeks of the "old" packs too and just use up the packs like that. NOW, I'm going to the beach in June and August (which will take me through the old packs) I'm wondering if I should just continue with them.. period and all as not to take a chance of break through bleeding? Is it ok to just change pills like one kind to the new kind without having period to "clear" system out, you know? She did not say this but who knows. I'm really nervous now about when to start new pills. Will the pills still be effective even if I have break through bleeding?--sorry lots of questions... please try to answer them all please! I value your knowledge. Also, what are your thoughts on Orthocyclen21? I interupted the gyn and tried to say what you said about all pills with Ortho word in them but she said something else like the proestrign is low or something.. yes I'll do research just wondering. Where do you get all your knowledge from, were you a gyn or pharmasist, etc? Will this pill be as effective for me since the dosages are different?
