bc and internal bodily cleansing system

I don't know if this makes much sense or if anyone can even answer it, but I'll give it a shot:
I am on bc (loestrin 24) and I am going to start a cleansing system, just in an effort to feel healthier. It is a 3 stage process, the forst is a colon cleanse, followed by liver, then kidney. (it is called enuvia, if that helps). it involves taking supplements at breakfast time and at bed time. The purpose, I know for the colon cleanser at least, is to pretty much flush out your body. Should I worry about my birth control being sustained? I currently take it at night- around 9. Will I be ok? Should I consider taking my bc at a different time of day? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

A personal trainer my hubby and I used recommended considering a detox program for hubby, but not for me, specifically because of the pill. I would think that anything that rushes material through your digestive tract would have the potential to lessen the effectiveness of the pill. Moving your pill time each day wouldn't do any good, in fact it might make the situation worse. The pill's effectiveness depends on maintaining a steady level of hormones in the body.
We asked our doctor about this, and he said there is really no need for any of these detox or cleansing programs. Good nutrition, lots of water, regular exercise, and good sleep will refresh your body...it just takes time and lifestyle change. In his opinion, most of these programs have little clinical research behind them, and the only thing most of these systems cleanse is your wallet! Keep in mind that most of these programs are clasified as "nutritional suppliments", and as such are not regulated for safety, effectiveness, or quality control. If you *really* want to do this type of thing, I'd strongly recommend consulting a qualified physician and a liscensed pharmacist first, who will be able to look at the process and the formulation of the suppliments and determine what the possible interactions could be. Even then, I'd use a backup, just in case!
I did a GI detox several months ago, but I use Nuvaring so it's not affected by anything in the digestive process.
You can do detoxes that are not part of fancy systems that use all kinds of blended stuff and cost a lot of money, it just takes a little more research.
