Alesse Advice Needed

Hi all!
I've been on Alesse for almost three months now. The first month was pretty rough... acne, moodiness, panic attacks, fatigue, etc. Knowing that there is an adjustment period to the pill, I decided to stick it out. However, now 3 months into it, I'm still experiencing problems with acne, fatigue, and severe mood swings. As an example, for two days now I've been crying over absolutely EVERYTHING for no real reason. It's really starting to have a negative affect my relationships with coworkers, friends, and loved ones.
Should I give the pills more time to adjust or go ahead and switch to something else? And if I should switch, are there any suggestions as to a brand that might work better?
Thanks so much!

Hi misssweetness78, welcome!

Jill,
Thank you so much for you advice!
I went to the doctor this morning and she told me that I wasn't responding to the progestin (levonorgestrel) very well. So, she put me on OvCon 35 in the hopes that it would reverse the moodiness and decrease the acne.
Has anyone ever tried the Ovcon? Any success/horror stories?
Jennifer
I have been taking Alesse 28 for 6 days now and today I can not shake the upset stomach. The first day I took (Friday) within 24 hours of the first day of my period like the instructions said, I felt like I was going to pass out. I was so sick. If I do not take it on a very FULL stomach, I will feel sick. Usually I do not feel sick in the morning, but today I do. I am not liking this at all and like I said, it's only day 6. I read that this is a low dose pill, so I don't know why I feel so sick. I thought low dose meant low side effects. I just want a pill that does not make me feel sick at all. I was looking into Nuvaring. My doc only gave me a 1 month supply of Alesse anyway, so I am free to change at the end of this month.
Good luck.
