Spotting while on the pill

I've been on birth control for about a year and a half, and have been on Seasonale for about 6 months. I have never had any problems with this pills, such as breakthrough bleeding, spotting, or really bad PMS symptoms or anything like that. I'm supposed to get my period in about a week, and am finishing up the last week of real pills before the placebo ones. Today, I experienced some slight spotting. I am very good with taking it, and have never missed a pill. Recently because of work, I've had to start taking it earlier, but I did it gradually, such as decreasing the time by only a half hour or so every 3 or 4 days. I have had sex recently (about a week a half ago was the last time), and I'm just worried that I might be pregnant. I know in most cases a test won't be effective unless you take it after you've missed a period, but since I only get my period every three months, maybe this would be different? I'm just wondering if I might have something to worry about and should go get the test now before my period comes, or if I should just wait the week, see if I get my period, and then figure things out. What would you suggest? Thanks
