I've been having trouble with my pills. I am a 45 year old woman and have been taking the pill for about a year and a half. My doctor has ordered an ultrasound because the pills aren't regulating me like they should be. I am consistantly getting my period on the third week instead of the fourth. And it's also now stretching out to last longer. All in all my flow is much lighter but the length of time is longer.

I'm trying not to worry. I was thinking my body may be overriding the pill because I'm on a lighter dosage because of my age. The doctor said I should need less hormones at this age, but my question is this: How does she know that just because I am 45 that I need less hormones? Aren't everyone's bodies different?

Ugh...this is getting frustrating

It's also possible that you're just not on the right pill for you.
