Hi there I just need some input on what you all think here....

My husband and I had sex last night which is 3 days past ovulation using withdrawl method(I know not a very reliable birth control but we're okay with that...I hope I do get pregnant this way) anyway, he did his thing outside of me but went back in immediately without wiping off. I know it's possible to get pregnant 3 days later as I am a result of that but how high are the chances. I should also say that we already have 2 kids and had 1 miscarriage all without really even trying and I still had a little bit of thick cm yesterday afternoon.

Any responses would be appreciated

Thanks
Michelle

Are you using natural family planning/FAM to determine your fertile days? I'm just wondering how you were determining your ovulation day - whether you're at risk for pregnancy or not depends greatly on how reliable the method was that you used to determine your peak (aka, ovulation) day. I used NFP (Sympto-Thermal Method) for 5 years in between my two oldest kids, so I'm pretty familiar with it. If you've had a clear thermal shift (temps elevated 4/10ths of a degree for at least 3 days), AND your cervical mucus is drying up/thickening as you described, those are "positive" signs that ovulation has occurred. If you're really three days post-ovulation, the chances of pregnancy are *extremely* slim at most - in fact, the NFP rule is that 3 days post ovulation (as determined by above criteria) is the beginning of Phase 3 post-ovulation infertility.

It all depends on how you determined when you actually ovulated though - your post doesn't say. But if you are truly 3 days post-o, you really would be fine even if he didn't pull out, because the egg can only survive for up to 24 hours post-ovulation.

HTH! :)
