Could I be pregnant?

Hi everyone. I am new to this board but not to iVillage. I have a dilema and hope someone can offer me some help, advice or just anything to help ease my mind. Here goes: up until January I was using condoms as my birth control method. I decided to start on Depo after using condoms for the past couple years and I do really bad with pills. (I have been in a monogamous relationship with someone for 12yrs). I was supposed to go for my second shot at the end of April but because I was very sick, I missed my appointment. About 2 days after I was supposed to go, I had unprotected sex (April 21). Prior to that tho, I had had a light period for about a month. When I was finally able to get an appointment to get my second shot, they wouldnt give it to me because they said it was too late and I would have to wait till my next period. The thing is that my next period hasnt come yet. I have taken about 6-8, if not more, home pregnancy tests since then and they have all come out negative. Is this normal? Could I still be pregnant even tho they come out negative? Any advice or suggestions you have would be so GREAT!! I have been stressing so much over it.

Thanks so much!!

Rosie

Hi Jill :)

Thank you soooo much for your help. I have been stressing over this for 2 months now and its been driving me crazy. I figured that, about it showing up by now if I was. And 8 tests couldnt be wrong...lol Unfortunately I dont have insurance right now so I have been going to the city health department for my shot. They arent very good with giving appointments :( because they have so many women without insurance going there and are limited. Let me ask you though, a friend of mine told me about a pill that will make my period come down without having to go through the whole birth control pill thing. Have you ever heard of that? Again thanks for the info :)

Hi!! Just to give you an update. My period FINALLY came down on Tuesday. Maybe after reading your responses it helped me destress and it decided to come down. I have never been happier to see my period :) I have made an appointment with the Clinic to see what other options I can try. I dont think I want to go on Depo again :-\ I was thinking of trying the Mirena IUD. Thanks for being so supportive and informative :)
