Q about Spermicide & Irritation

Hi again! Just a little update - I've been off the pill since April, and so far I am liking it. (Though I still haven't gotten my period yet!)
I've been using condoms, and I ordered some FemProtect spermicide gel (to use in tandem with condoms) but I want to be clear on the best way to use it, since I haven't used spermicides before. **How much do I use? Can I just put a little on the outside tip of the condom?** There's no point in even using the gel as "extra protection" if
I'm doing it wrong, or not using enough! :)
Another question. I've been using lubricated condoms, but I always feel irritated and a little itchy for a couple days afterward. I'm trying to decide, if I'm allergic to latex, allergic to the lubrication on the condom, allergic to the outside lubricant I was using, or if I just wasn't using enough lube and the friction caused the itch and irritation! So many things it could be! **Any ideas?**
And LAST question! I got some non-lubed condoms and natural lubricant to see how those feel. Never used a non-lubed condom before and I'm worried the friction might increase the risk of breakage? **Exactly how much lube do I need with one of these?**
Okay...whew! TIA!

Hi keylime_pie, welcome back!

Thanks again Jill for all your helpful advice!
So to clarify about s'cide application - is using a vaginal applicator the only correct way to apply? Could I put some on the outside of the condom and sort of use "it" as the applicator? :)
I'm going to try Sylk lubricant. I've heard good things about it, and it's supposed to be similar to the ph of the vagina. The glycerin in astorglide tends to bother me.
And last thing - should lube be used on the inside of the condom?
