Hi, I haven't posted in quite awhile here and have just been lurking in the meantime.
As an update: I have stopped BCP and had last AF 5/29. I am currently using the diaphragm, which I'm still getting used to, am not sure if it's the device for me.
Anyway, I know that it can take a few months for AF to return after stopping hormones, but I was wondering about others actual experiences/time table with the return of AF.
I am a getting anxious for mine to start-can't believe I just said that! DH and I are fine with getting pg if it happens, but aren't necessarily trying. We have had a few 'heat of the moment' encounters where no BC was used at all, so I guess there is a chance of pg, but I doubt it since I don't think I O'd yet.
So, please post your experiences with AF returning after the pill. Thanks so much!
Sari

Hi hippiesari, welcome back!
Jill
I took birth control pills for 7 years. I just started my period today, 37 days after stopping BCP.
I agree with the PP...charting your fertility signs can be a huge help as far as knowing when to expect your period, if you're ovulating, when you're most fertile. It is not difficult and basal thermometers are not very expensive. It gave me some clue as to when to expect a period once I detected a temperature shift and knew I had ovulated.
I also used FAM to determine when I was ovulating when I stopped using Nuvaring.
If you're sure you haven't o'd then of course there's no chance of pg as you know. I o'd on cd 19 after coming off the patch and got pg that cycle, but we were trying.
I hear it can take longer depending on the person.
Good luck and I hope AF shows soon.
