Confused about spotting & double packing

Okay, here's my question: I've been trying to start double packing my pills (only getting 6 peroids a year) and then I was going to try triple packing, but there is a problem. I'm almost to the end of my second pack and I started spotting and having cramps. Can I just stop taking my active pills and have my seven day break now? I only have a week left of active pills and I know if I continue taking them I will have cramps and bleeding the whole time (not bad, but still who wants to have their peroid any longer than necessary). So am I still protected if I take my break now?

Thank you! I did read that section, I think I just wanted to double check and hear it from one of you ;) It makes me feel so much better. I'm on monophasic pills and I've double packed and triple packed before, but its been a while and I've never tried it with these pills. I think I may need "stronger" bcp to be successful with triple packing, but I'll be patient. I've been on these pills for at least a year, but since I used to freak out about being pregnant every month I've been using bcps normally. I'm not paranoid about it anymore and I take my pills at the exact time everyday so I'm ready to try double or triple packing again. Do you think taking the pills straight through (even though I'm spotting and cramping) would help my body to adjust to the double packing more quickly than taking a break when it occurs? Or is that suffering without a purpose?

Thanks again for your help!
