Can BCP Make Your Period Worse??

This is probably an odd question that is also kind of gross, but I have to ask it. Can a BCP actually make your period & its symptoms worse?
At the end of April, I was put on a new pill that at the end of the first pack made me not have a period. At the end of my 2nd pack my period came, but was very dark. And now, at the end of my 3rd pack it's that time (and AF arrived on schedule) and I feel so ILL! My stomach feels like it wants to secede from my body (I even feel like that scene in Alien where the thing pops out of that person's stomach & finds Sigorney Weaver), I have had pounding headaches, and I just feel bloated and gross.
I've read here on the board, and in other places that it takes typically 3 months for your body to adjust, but will this go away? Might I not feel quite so gross next month?
I guess I'm just wondering if I should go back to what I was on before. I changed doctor's and pharmacies, and the new pharmacy doesn't carry what I used to be on, they have a different generic, which is what I have been on for the last few months.
Thanks for any advice you can throw my way.

Hi gustergirlkl, welcome back!

I agree--though I'm a little concerned if all you did was switch from one generic to another of the same brand name
Thanks Jill & Judie,
I did check the "your pills and what's in them" post and my current generic (Nortrel 1/35) is listed right below my current generic (Necon 1/35).
I've been on BC for over a year and a half and had to switch 3 times & this is the only time I have felt like this. I started on Ortho Tri-Cyclen LO and after 6 months I started having constant breakthrough bleeding 2 weeks before my period, and then a really heavy period. My doctor switched me to Ortho Novum, but my pharmacy gave me Necon. Then I moved & had to switch pharmacies & mine doesn't carry Necon, so they gave me Nortrel.
I really hope that this is just my body adjusting, and that next month will be more normal. If not, I might just call all the local pharmacies and ask if they carry Necon.
Thanks again ladies.
