Has Any 1 Been On The BC Patch???

Hello ladies,
Im very interested on going on the birth control patch b/c i hate swallowing pills. for some reason ever since i was little i just had the fear that i would choke on pills, so i dont ever take them. that is why i wanna go on the patch. ive been sexually active since i was 17(now 20) and have now decided to go on the patch to have that double barrier of protection(along with the condom). so has anyone ever been on the bc patch before? if so how was it to deal with? did you have alot of symptoms? were your periods regular after going on it?
Sorry for all the questions but im really curious about it. Thanks for any answers given.

Hi Nicole, welcome to the board!
I used it for a few years and loved it. I quit using it when I was ready to have a baby and got pregnant the first month off the patch, so I was very pleased with that too.
I put in my bikini area in the front, where underwear would cover it alternating sides each patch. The biggest side effect I had, pardon the pun, was bigger boobs. Not huge, just bigger:) I was never well endowed, so I enjoyed it. I have used lots of types of pills, but this is the only one that made them grow.
I had a little nausea the first week of each of the first couple cycles but after that, I just loved it.
There are some additional warnings about blood clots with the patch now, but I don’t know the specifics. I plan to use it when I quit breastfeeding my son.
Good luck.
Holly
Thank you all for posting.
I have been thinking about getting on bc for a while, but i wanted to get all my facts about them. Personally, i cant deal with the "pill-a-day" routine being as though im a scared to death of swallowing pills and remembering to take them everyday. i know and have read the risk of blood clots and the law suits pretaining to the deaths of those who have used the patch, but from what i read all bc has a risk of blood clots. i know i would have to talk to my doctor about which he will give more insight on it. as for the Nuvaring, im not into really sticking things up there, so i would either consider the patch or pills. Thanks again for the help.

Let us know what you choose and how it works out for you. I am an "old" chick, 35, and didn't have any trouble on the patch;) You may enjoy it too.
