Yaz - low libido

I've been on Yaz for three months now and my sex drive is nonexistent. I have no other side effects on Yaz other than a little moodiness. Before Yaz, I took Estrostep for four months and my moods swings were awful (and low libido). I'm not sure which birth control to try next. I took Ortho Novum 7/7/7 in my early twenties with no real problems. I'm now almost forty and had been off birth control for seven years (had two children). My libido was never really high, but never kicked in again after having children. At first I attributed it to breastfeeding (and fatigue). But now that I've been on the pill, my sex drive doesn't exist at all. I'm not sure which pill to try next (or whether I should go off the pill entirely).

Thanks for any input!

It's possible that any pill is going to have this effect on your sex drive, unfortunately.

I spoke with the nurse practitioner at my obgyn office and she suggested trying LoOvral if I want to try another pill. Is this pill OK to take at my age (almost 40)? She said that since I'm a nonsmoker and my blood pressure is good it's fine to take. She also suggested that I look into other options such as NuvaRing or the Mirena IUD.
