Seasonale Problems

I have recently been having some problems with ovarian cysts and mid cycle ovualtion, so my OB-GYN put me on Seaonale, not for the birth control reason, I have already had a tubal ligation. I have now been on it for 6 weeks, and have not stopped bleeding since I started it. Some bleeding can be pretty heavy too. And for the last couple weeks I have had some abnormal cramping. After calling the doctor, hoping to get a new perscription, he told me to quit taking it for a couple days, and then start a whole new pack of pills. I don't see how this would work considering it's all the same pills, and a new pack of pills will cost $120. I don't want to buy a new pack if it's not going to work and I'll just have to try a new kind of pills anyways. Anyone have any ideas on why my doctor would tell me to do this? Will it really work? Or is it just a waste of time and money?

Hi brown_eyes2006, welcome!
