hey everyone

im thinking about starting birth control, but i was wondering if it has any long term side effects. some people have told me that it will be harder to conceive in the future, is that true?

thanks in advance

Depends upon the type of birth control your thinking about going on. I know with DepoProvera there can be a signficant delay, so they generally recommend stopping it six months to a year before you want to concieve. As far as I know the pills and the IUD should be almost automatic.

As far as long term side effects guess it depends. My breasts went from a B cup to DD while on the combination pill, but I think its pretty rare for women to experience that much breast growth while on the pill. Hopefully some other women can talk about other long term side effects they've had.

I concieved the first cycle after I stopped using the pill. Oh, and I had been using them for 15 years!
