stopping pill question

Can I stop a monophasic pill at any time and get my period a few days later, such as it would be at the end of a pack, even if I had had my period a week or two earlier? This would be for the purposes of an IUD insertion. Thanks! I was wondering if this could be pretty much guaranteed...I am very anxious to get off the pill.

You could probably get a withdrawal bleed started by stopping your pill pack early (within a few days of stopping), but you would want to check with your doctor that that s/he would find that acceptable for the IUD insertion, otherwise you might be wasting your time.

Thanks--that answers my question. My doctor didn't even want to prescribe me another pack of pills because of migraines (that's why I want to get off them NOW) but I knew if I didn't my period would be screwy and I'd never get in for an appointment between that and my work schedule! We're not using them for contraception at all--my meds make them rather inneffective, so condoms it has been.

I didn't get the chance to try this unfortunately. My period came almost a week early again--I guess my meds are really screwing with my BC pills. Will still work the the IUD appointment just fine though. =)
