Freaking out!

Hi, I'm freaking out here. Okay, I'm taking Ortho Lo and I got married last month and went to Jamaica on our honeymoon. We changed time zones and I adjusted my pill accordingly. Got back and had my normal period exactly on time. I always, always start sometime on Wed after the placebo pills start on Sun. After my period I resumed taking the active pills at my normal time (in my time zone, which is 10pm). I am religious about taking them exactly on time because we don't want a baby anytime soon. I even set my phone alarm. So this month, yesterday was Wed and nothing at all! I've been on the pill since Dec and have never been late! And I've never missed an active pill! I know I'm not very late, it's just never happened before so I am freaking out. I mean, last month I even changed time zones and everything was fine. The only thing different this month is I got a yeast infection during my 2nd week of pills (which I've been getting a lot!) and I used some Monistat cream. I asked at the pharmacy and they said it should not affect my pill. We abstained from sex for 2 days to give the meds time to work and they did. When we started having sex again, we didn't use back up b/c of what the pharmacy told me. I was under the impression mainly antibiotics messed it up. In addition, I know I'm protected during my week of inactive pills but just to be safe, we've been using condoms this week and still no period like usual! I had sore breasts 4-5 days before the placebos like usual and today they feel almost completely better like after I would have my period. I know I am probably freaking out about nothing, I just need some reassurance. Is it possible to completely miss a period this late into taking the pill? Thanks!

P.S. My yearly gyno exam is Aug 3, so I guess I can talk to her about all this then.

Hi sarahbean19, welcome back!

It could be possible your husband has a yeast infection too (although guys don't always notice it) and keeps giving it back to you.

I have found that my period starts a little later after having a yeast infection, so that might be part of the problem, too. I don't know why a yeast infection would mess things up, but my period was about 3 days later than normal both times I've had the misfortune to have one.
Good luck!
Yeast messes me up too.
