Hi everyone. I have a really annoying problem that I don't know what to do about. I have been on birth control for a few years now due to endometriosis. I have never had any problem. I switched to Depo Provera a few years ago, I don't recall why, but I hated it. i gained so much weight. I wnet off of it and have tried pro gesterin only, regualr pills and now the ring. I have high blood pressure, so they are concerned with using birth control. The problem is, that within the past 2 or 3 months, sex has been horrible. I've been terribly dry, and after I'm so sore. It feels like he's been missing my vagina and hitting the area between the vagina and anus. It even hurts to wipe after I go to the bathroom. I asked my doctor, and upon an exam, she said I had a yeast infection and that it all should clear up after being treated. It didn't. So, now the problem. I can either continue to not be able to comfortably have sex, or use something else. I can't use condoms (latex allergy and the non latex ones don't fit my bf), can't use a diaphragm (contains latex), my dr said I run too high of a risk for an IUD to be expelled. I was wondering if anyone else had anything similiar or any ideas, I'm so frustrated and my dr doens't seem to be helping. Sorry I went on for so long, thanks for any input.

You're not the first person on here that seems to be complaining about loss of sex drive on the ring. I would talk to your doctor and state that it is the cause of having low sex drive and no longer a good option. I don't know much about things that work well with high blood presure, I am sure somebody else will be able to point you in the right direction there.

I've noticed that when I get a yeast infection I am sore for a few weeks after. I started using the internal and external treatments and those work really well. Try using a soap made for sensitive skin.....or no soap at all. Do NOT use antibacterial soap! I learned this years ago. You don't want the good bacterias to be killed off down there.

Good luck,

Lucky

It's possible that you're not getting enough estrogen--that causes vaginal dryness, it makes the tissue fragile, and it makes the vaginal environment ripe for growing yeast.
