Alesse question?
| Tue, 08-01-2006 - 4:22pm |
My doctor perscribed Alesse 21 for me and I was wondering what is the difference between the 21 and 28 day Alesse. Is it possible for me to skip my period w/Alesse? I am on Ortho Novum 777 right now and I never have a period so would like the same as with Alesse. I am only switching because of me wanting more sex drive. I dont need the pill for contraceptive because I had a tubal ligation in April, I just want to control my period. Thanks

I am on allesse 21 as well the only differance between the 21 and 28 is with the 21 you do not have a week of a sugar pill you just stop taking it andthat would be your period week. I have taken both and I prefer the 21 you can skip your period only by chance if you just continue on to
Alesse 28 has the reminder pills in it that keep you in the habit of taking a pill every day (even if they're not doing anything), as Dawn mentioned--Alesse 21 contains only active pills and it's up to you to remember on your own when to start the next pack.
You might be able to skip your period with Alesse, but that's going to depend on how your body deals with the hormones.
