Ok, so I thought what i had was a yeast infection, and i thought i had it for a month or so. Same symptoms, though pretty minor. wort is the burning/stinging during intercourse and the itching. well, went to my gyn yesterday- it was time for my annual- and no yeast. They are doign a bunch of culture tests, but he thinks they will come back negative. i am at my wits end here. my sex life is pretty much non-existent. DH is completely fed up with this- though also supportive- and I don't know what to. Could it be a reaction to the pill i started about 2 months ago? Has this happend to anyone else? Any advice you can give would be very very much appreciated!
Thanks
by the way, i tried monistat and am taking acidophilus, as i saw recommended on this board a week or so prior to going to the doc, also with no results

Ok, thank you for your response, now I have a follow up question. If i ask to switch pills, I'd like something simila to what I am on now-loestrin 24, because aside from this problem, I really really like this pill. It's the forst time in a long time, I've been so happy with most aspects of a pill. However, I need a sex life. So any ideas of things that are similar in formulation tho this? I appreciate the help and advice.

actually, I switched from Estrostep to Loestrin. i was incredibly cranky and moody *all the time* on the estrostep. So that is definitely not an option.

I'm in the same boat as you right now, with the vaginal dryness.

Yes! I remember, i actually was reading your posts when all this started, so I was wondering how it was working out for you. Good luck with the IUD removal, hope it fixes everything. Thanks for the advice. I think maybe I will try one of these soy milks. don't know if it will work, but it's worth a shot. Can i get one with phytoestrogens anywhere?
I went to a new doc this time and he didn't even ask if i wanted to switch pills, didn't even mention that it could be a mismatched estrogen/progestin combo. i hate the process of switching pills. it's scary to me and i'v done it so many times, i don't even know what to try anymore. ugh. i am so discouraged.

Actually, phytoestrogens are much less strong than the synthetic estrogens. I've been down this road before.

I sure hope that getting my IUD out fixes everything, as the problem is getting worse for me over time, and it's so hard on my sex life!

we actually tried the othe rnight for the first time in a while, and it wasn't quite as bad as it had been. it was by no means better, but i didn't want to cry in pain. for riht now, i'm following the dr.s advice, which was to try an antifungal if it doens't get better, and then i'll switch if i need to, and i probably will. i just hate the waiting game.

i was thinking about soap and such too. i bought a luandry soap with no colors or fragrances or anything, thinking maybe the soap i used on my undies was irritating me, but i didn't think of the shower. i also haven't washed there wish soap in ages, but i didn't even think about the run-off. that makes alot of sense. i guess i'm heading out now to find soome soap free body wash. thanks for the advice. best of luck, and let me know how it goes with the iud removal
