Loestrin FE

This is my first month on Loestrin FE, I used to take Yasmin but recently switched pills because of irregular bleeding in Week 3 and problems with my skin. I know that spotting within the first three months on a new pill is normal but on Week 2 of this new package I've spotted continuously for a *whole week*. Should this be cause for concern?
I *love* what this pill has done for my skin but I don't want to sacrafice menstrual regulation for the sake of being acne free! Can't I just find one that does both?
Has anyone else had this experience? Please let me know,
<3 Allison

Irregular bleeding is VERY common when you switch pills.
Once your body gets used to the lower dose (there is less estrogen than in yasmin), it will probably be fine, so you should definitely wait it out a little while. I just wanted to offer an idea for if it does not work out and the break through bleeding gets to be just too much. First, I think you are probably spotting because you reduced your estrogen, and break through bleeding/spotting is more frequent with lower-estrogen based pills. If you really like the clear skin feature, you may want to try Estrostep Fe, which is made by the same company (Warner Chilcott) as Loestrin, and has the same hormones, but has more estrogen during the second and third weeks (it's triphasic, but the progestin doesn't increase, the estrogen does): http://www.warnerchilcott.com/products/estrostep/index.php -- read the section that says "The Advantages of Estrostep Fe" -- it talks about break through bleeding. My sister uses this pill and has never had any problems -- it just made her tired for the first week, and she hasn't gained any weight (I know sometimes that's another worry with any pill).
It might be worth a shot if the bleeding with Loestrin doesn't resolve itself. Just thought I'd offer my opnion...
