Please help with any info you can. If you are using an IUD, which are you using and why did you choose that one?
As I said in another thread I would love to go hormone free to see if they are the cause of my non-existent libido after taking pills for approximately 15 years, but am not looking forward to my pre-pill cramps coming back.
What are the pros and cons of each IUD?

I had the Mirena IUD inserted in December. Before that, I was on the pill for seven years.
I love the Mirena! I was concerned about the hormones... but it just releases progesterin into the uterus. It's not released into your body like how the pill works. My sex drive is much more than it ever was on the pill. My husband loves it. However, my skin has gone back to it's pre-pill days. I'm breaking out again like I did before I started the pill. I believe it has to do with the hormones again. The hormones in the pill typically help clear up the skin and now that I'm no longer on those hormones, the acne I had as a teen has returned full force.
Since I've had the Mirena, my periods are fewer and farther apart. And when I do have my period, it is very light. I only need to use a pantyliner. I do tend to get a little more crampy (right before my period starts) than I did prior to having the IUD... but it's not so bad.
I also love the cost! The Mirena IUD is saving me loads of money. I was spending $420 a year on pills (insurance did not cover birth control pills). With the IUD, I only had to pay $130 and its good for 5 years!
And I can't rave enough about the convience! No more worrying about taking the pill. No more having to stop to put on a condom... you can have sex whenever you want!
I think that's it for my opinion on the Mirena. So far... I'm very happy I made the decision.
