Pill Timing

I'm pretty religious about taking my pill at the same time every day. I have an alarm set on my cell phone, and I always take it withing 1-2 minutes of the time I took it the day before. I'm on a very low-dose pill (YAZ), so I know it's even more important -- especially to avoid side effects like break through bleeding. I was talking to my younger sister and her friend this weekend, and her friend had just gone on Yasmin. My sister is on Estrostep, and somehow it came up in the conversation that my sister was jealous because she had to take her pill at the same time every day, but her friend didn't. I said that I thought everyone had to take the pill at a consisten time, but her friend said that the doctor had said it was no big deal what time she took it. I know that doctors know more than I do, obviously, but I was just wondering if this sounds okay. I know Yasmin has more estrogen than the pill I'm on, but other than that (and the number of days I take it) they're basically the same. Also, Yasmin is still considered a low-dose pill, so I'm wondering if she was misinformed, or if I was...
