Question about the patch

DD 18 is using the patch to control heavy periods. She tried putting it on her thigh but it was sticky around the edges and caused lint from her jeans to stick to her leg. So she moved it to her hip - same problem. We have had to scrub with alcohol to cut through the sticky when she removed the patch. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I'm not using it now because I just had a baby (planned). I used to wear it in the front bikini area. It would be covered by bikini underwear or a bathing suit bottom. I would switch from one side to the other with each patch.

As far as I can remember, and I haven't used it in over a year, approved wearing sites are:
outside of upper arm
buttocks
upper torso, front and back
abdomen (which is where I wore mine, only low)

Oh, and baby oil works great to remove the sticky after you take it off:)
Good luck,
Holly

Thank you! We'll try moving it to somewhere that her underwear covers and maybe that will help. We'll also try removing the sticky with baby oil. The alcohol seems to cause a small raw area.

Thanks & congratulations on the baby!

Hello!

I was just looking for discussions about the patch. Funny, there aren't that many...

I have been using it for about a year. The only place I can wear it that it won't move around is my arm. If I have it anywhere else it moves due to rubbing, and the adhesive gets messy. Also, if I wear it on my panty line it pokes my skin where my belly is when I sit down. The only problem with having it on the arm is when I wear a tank top. I had some guy at the gym ask me if I was trying to quit smoking! haha....

Despite the pain of deciding where to place the patch, it is great! I started using it because of forgetting to take the pill. Which if you look at the other messages happens often. I would rather have a messy patch than a crying baby, right now!

Hope your daughter is happy and healthy!

One thing that is very important--you need to make sure your daughter is ONLY putting the patch on the parts of her body that are indicated in the instructions--upper back, upper arm, upper chest (but not breasts), buttocks, or lower abdomen.
