Period midpack Seasonale, not BTB.

I have a call in to my doctor but I thought I would post here also.
I am on the end of my 5th week of Seasonale and have started a real period. I have had BTB for the entire time I've been on it but this is a real period with some cramps, heavy flow and clots. Should I just keep taking it or go off for a few days?
The way I see it, since I started while on the pill, I should just keep taking it since this pill is a Sunday start where you can take it during your period when you first start a pack.
One thing, though. I don't normally have clots. I used to as a teen and while on BCP's in the past, and this time I've got clots. Not huge or concerning.
What do you all think? Anyone on Seasonale that has had this experience?
Thanks,
Apricot

Hi again
Jill
The doctor said to keep taking it straight through my period.
Your suggestion makes more sense and I'm trying to think about what to do. How long should I go hormone free if I do choose to do it your recommended way?
Thanks again,
Apricot
I just called the doctor back and he suggested again to stay on them. He knows that I get withdrawal headaches and he said this way would help me avoid that.
My husband is getting even more frustrated than me because of the constant bleeding. I'm willing to keep trying because if this pill does work it would be great for me, but I don't know how much longer he can stand swimming in the red sea (sorry, gross, I know).
Thanks again and I'll keep the board updated incase anyone else is having this problem.

I really do think that if I said I hate this pill, he'd switch me. But in the 1 out of 3 chance that I am one of the women who can take this pill with success, I don't want to give up. He's wanting me to take it straight through, 365 days per year.
I just read about a new pill being looked at that is a lower dose than Seasonale and is meant to be taken 365 days a year with no breaks at all. It's the same progestin as Seasonale.
I think I will stick with this for 6 months. If it's getting better by then, I will give it another 6 months. If I don't like it after a year, I'll switch.
Thanks again for your help,
Apricot
ps, do you think I should be taking an iron supplement since I'm bleeding to death? LOL.
