Stoopid *$#@^(! Doctors!

So I called today to make the appointment for the IUD. The girl on the phone was asking me all the questions I've already answered with my own doctor about if I had kids, do I want kids, etc...

Then she tells me that the doctor there won't insert an IUD in someone that hasn't been pregnant.

So, I guess I'm back to where I was a couple weeks ago. I don't know what I'm going to do. I don't know WHY I can't do whatever I want with my own body. I don't know WHY people think that someday I'll magically want to have children... I won't!

I called my doctor and left a message asking what to do next. Of course, I got no reply.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the coffee thing was thrown out of court, wasn't it.

I just hate being treated like an idiot just because I and my doctors are surrounded by them....lol.

It went to court....and I will admit, not for the reasons I thought. :) Hey, we learn something new everyday, right?

Call around. Maybe that's just the norm or maybe there's a medical reason for it, for instance, because the cervix has never been open before (as in childbirth). I don't know, but it would be worth a few calls or a visit to google about it.

Please keep us posted as to what happens. I am 35 and my doctor refused to give me an IUD last year. I too have never had children and don’t want them. Because I was not monogamous, my doctor said that the risk of me getting PID was too high. However, I am monogamous now, so I think I am going to try again. I don't like hormones, and the barrier methods are just too much of a pain.

Will do. My consultation appointment with the new doctor isn't until October 4th. If they will not agree to the Essure procedure then I will request the IUD again. I am SO sick of taking these pills... they just have to come up with something we can all agree on.

I still think this is soooo crazy. I must have been lucky to have the doctor I had in Wisconsin. When I got married, she suggested that I get the IUD because she knew I wanted to wait five years to have children!! It was my doctor's idea! I'm 26 and have never had a child.... and the IUD has been awesome for me. I recommend it to anyone in a monogamous relationship who does or doesn't have kids!

I did recently move to a new state
