YAZ Dosing Question

This might be a strange question. I'm on Yaz, which has 24 active pills and 4 inactive pills instead of 21 active pills and 7 inactive pills. I know that in Europe that lower dose of Yasmin is Yasminelle, which has 21 days of active pills and 7 days of inactive pills in the same chemical formation as Yaz. My quesiton is, if I wanted to not take the last 3 active pills next month, and to take a break from the hormones for 7 days, like other people do on other birth control pills, would I be protected like on other pills, or would I need to use back up? I think that Yaz has fewer placebo pills for less fluctuation in hormones, as well as for providing a shorter period. I just wanted to know if the efficacy of the pill is also affected by this different dosing schedule.
Any information anyone has would be really appreciated!

The hormones in Yaz are no different from what's in Yasmin, which is a 21/7 pill, so I would think you'd be all right to do a 21/7 with Yaz if you wanted.
