Unique situation regarding the Pill...

I have been taking the pill for a few years now and until recently, have had nothing more than a few slip ups in terms of forgetting one and having to take it next day. However, just yesterday I realized that I clumsily waited 14 days rather than the usual 7 to start my new pack. I was incredibly busy and occupied at work, and thus I must have started making myself believe that I needed to start the following Friday rather than the correct time.

Luckily, I wasn't having unprotected sex during those 7 days. But just last night, on day 6 of my new pack (what should be day 13 had I not waited), my boyfriend and I got carried away sans condoms. He pulled out prior to climaxing, so I was somewhat relieved, but now I'm full of anxiety. Is that safe enough? Two methods yet one not being used correctly and one completely undependable? Perhaps I'm answering my own question...

I'm aware that the pill takes a full 7 days before it is safe to have unprotected sex. I'm also nervous because, given that the efficacy of the pill was theoretically 0% and that my cycle would start on the 1st day of my last period, last night would have been day 15 or so, meaning that I'd be fertile. Let me know what you think, if its worth it to venture out and get emergency contraception...etc..etc.

Thank you, much appreciated,
Stephanie

So clearly the anxiety got the best of me considering I couldn't bear to wait for response before chickening out and running off to get a prescription for Plan B. The relief in itself is worth it, and where I live its become over the counter which is great.

However, what should I do about taking Plan B (EC) and the pill? Should I just continue with my pills as if nothing has changed?

Thanks again! I am so happy to have found this board and all you wonderful people for this sort of advice.

Okay so I'm back...

I am concerned because I'm now feeling nauseated with some cramping as this is the time I "should" be getting my period but I am only on day 15 of my pack (which was started a week late, re: former messages). Is this at all normal? I understand that my body is probably terribly confused as I've been screwing with my cycle, forcing it to start a week later, but it makes me so nervous! I'm afraid its morning sickness, and though I am sure I am blowing this all out of proportion, I also know that I cannot afford to be pregnant.

Thanks again!
