How long before your periods returned to normal, and your hormones were back to normal? I quit nuvaring & birth control all together august 9th, and had a period for 4 days. So, this next week I am assuming i should get another period? Or, am i going to be out of whack for a few months?

Thanks,
kim

You will probably be out of whack for a few months.

I was told to give it six months (I've been on bc for almost 10 years).

I went off the ring after one cycle of it...that was at the end of July( took it out 7-30-06 after the 3 weeks were up)...I got my period 2 days later and I was extra nauseas with that first period off it and now I currently have my 2nd period off nuvaring and my period is so far the way it was before I had the ring( I'm going into day 3 of my period on no birth control right now).

After I took the ring out though, that week I was very very nauseas, even more than I get without birth control, and I had a headache and just felt all over crappy for about 2 weeks but then it slowly subsided. As I said though, my period seems to be normal like it was before nuvaring.

I had one when I quit, like I normally would have, now it's about a month later and I'm having another one so my guess is you'll go back to your norm.
A question I have is that these 2 periods have been heavy, hard, and painful. Right before I went off NuvaRing I had a tubal ligation, and your first one or two periods after that can be harder, so is this change from the tubal only or from the going off of hormones too?

Ok, i am going to assume, I will get a period this month shouldn't i? i havent had sex since august 5th (while i was on nuvaring). When I took nuvaring out on 8/9, I got my period a few days later, and it lasted for 4 days. I should be expecting my period anytime, but I dont feel crampy or anything? I mean yesterday I was, but today I am not, just feeling kinda bloated. Is it possible I wont have one? You see, I started on birth control when I was 19, and this is the first time in 10 years that I have gone off of it, so I dont know what is normal. I feel very emotional, but last month my ex-fiance ended it with me on august 7th in a very ugly way that you wouldnt understand, and its been very stressful for me since then. I get very weepy, but not sure if its because of stress or because of me being off of birth control. I got light headed when i went off of nuvaring, and still have barely an appetite.

My first one off of Nuva ring was regular, of course, since my body didn't "know" I was off of it yet, the second one took a while to get and I had some extreme PMS type of symptoms, so I guess just give yourself some time.

I wouldn't assume that you'll have a period this month, it may take several extra weeks to several extra months.
