I was home for the weekend and inserted my new ring today, September 10th...well last month I inserted it between 2:00-2:30 PM and I did the same today...but I forgot that where I go to school is an hour ahead of us, so technically I put it in about a 1/2 late...is this going to cause any problems? I wasn't sure if it had to be put in at the exact same time every month or not so I thought I would ask!

One more question...recently I have been allowing my bf to come inside of me, we are both free of stds and since I have been on BC for about 5 years and am using it correctly, we figure we will be fine. I know that there is always that 1% risk, but we are willing to take it...anyways, I know that if you mess, like leave the ring out too long or something like that you need to have it in for 7 days before having unprotected sex again to make sure it is properly working. Well since I have inserted the ring today, do I have to wait until next Sunday before he can come in me? I don't think I do, since I am continously using the ring, I just took it out to have a period. But he brought up this question and it made me think a little, so I thought I was ask your advice!! Thanks!

Well, I'm not doctor, but I'm gonna take a guess and say that a half hour isn't going to make a difference. Hell, if it does, I'm in trouble!! Ha, I've started pills a full day late, I put my ring in a full day late last month... I'm kind of forgetful sometimes. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that that short of a time won't make a difference, but if you're worried, just throw on condoms for a week, and you should be fine. And I could be wrong, but I think that there is not much a difference between whether he finishes inside you or not. If your BC didn't work, and you've ovulated, even his "pre-cum" can get you pregnant. I mean, maybe him actually finishing inside you kind of propels it up there a little more, but all it takes is one to swim up there! Point is, when in doubt, use a condom too... don't just rely on him pulling out. Good luck!

Here, at least, we consider the ring to be like the pill.
