How soon to expect no periods on Depo?!?

Hello ladies! I have a question for you all... how soon should I be expecting my period to stop on the Depo shot? Here's why I'm asking: I got my first shot last month. I wasn't actually on my period at the time, but since I was switching from the pill to the shot, the doc said it'd be fine. I got my period about a week later than it should have been that month. Now it's September and my period is late. I was supposed to start on Thursday and now it's Sunday night! Is it possible for me to be pregnant, or is this just a side effect of the shot?? I know it varies for each girl, but I thought it was usually about a year before patients experience this! The shot is supposed to be 99-something percent effective, so is it really possible for me to be pregnant??

from what little I know about depo (friend's use) it can really throw your periods off....If you're worried you could always test.....((HUGS))

Well, technically you can never expect to have no periods on Depo.
