Some stupid questions (I'm on Yasmin)

Okay, I have been on Yasmin for 4 years and have been pleased with it. I have some questions that may or may not be considered "stupid" ; )
1. Does the pill make it so that you don't ovulate (and if so what are the odds that women actually DO?) or that your uterus cannot form the proper lining necessary for en embryo to implant or both?
2. I have also read in the FAQ here that the pill changes your cervical mucous to make it sticky but I always thought that it was supposed to BE sticky and thick so that the sperm can "attach" (for lack of a better word) to it and have a better chance of doing their job
3. When we say "cervical mucous" does that refer to same thing as vaginal discharge (I know that almost sounds juvenile but I honestly do not know the answer to that question)
4. This one is for Yasmin users: Have you found that your periods are super light and don't last very long on this pill and have you found that you have more vaginal discharge than you did before?
Before anyone asks I am in my 30's and I am insanely diligent about taking my pill (I set my alarm on the weekends for the time I'd take it on my workdays). Before the pill I used condoms but I wanted to start using the pill in addition to the condoms for the extra added safety after having a condom break 5 years ago (now I use BOTH!)
I just have some confusion about the mechanism of the pill and have actually been going on "faith" that it works but I guess I just want to know HOW as well. Thanks!
