Yaz to NuvaRing?

Hi,

I have been on Yaz since it came out in April. I was on some pills before that which didn't go so well, and my main concern with birth control is depression and anxiety. I've never gained weight or had breakthrough bleeding. I had a little acne on one (Mircette), which was no fun, but I probably would have stayed on it if I hadn't been out of my mind...

Yaz is pretty good for my moods, I haven't had any real problems with it at all the whole time I've been on it, except for a zit or two around my period (but maybe those would be there anyway... who knows), the problem is, the longer I've been on it, the harder it is for me to take the pill properly! In the beginning I was religious about taking it at the exact same time everyday... the second month I'd be 15 or so minutes late... and now I'm getting up to an hour late at least a few times a week. I know that an hour isn't technically a big deal, but I feel like the amount of times it happens is definitely lowering my protection.

I really thought I'd be so good about taking it everyday, but I just started a new job, and my schedule is getting busier and busier everyday.

I think I have an estrogen tolerance problem, so the patch really isn't an option -- and I don't think my doctor would put me on it. She suggested NuvaRing (she's pretty easy-going about whatever I want to try as long as she monitors it), because it's a low dose and you only change it once a month, and this is quite appealing.

The only thing is, Yaz has a progestin in it that was supposed to be good for a more even-mood. I've heard of people going off certain pills and then having different reactions when they went back on them... so I don't want to mess that up for myself if the NuvaRing didn't work out. I am wondering, I guess, if there was anyone in a similar situation (I know Yaz is new, but maybe going from Yasmin to NuvaRing?) -- I'm just wondering how it's all gone for everyone... what you'd recommend doing. I am going to try to take the pill more regularly, but this option was appealing for other reasons too, but my well-being is most important overall.

Any help would be so appreciated!

Thanks,
Mirabelle

I have no info to pass along on the subject of this post, but I just read your other post and wanted you to know that I can see this one and respond, so you didn't do anything wrong.

Good luck finding the information you are looking for. I believe the weekends are pretty slow around here so that's probably why no one replied to you yet.
