hi!
I delivered my first baby almost 10 weeks ago (7/15). My Ob told me to start taking the pill again, the 1st Sunday after my Pd. started. My afterbirth bleeding had stopped and maybe 2 weeks later I got my pd, so I started the pill, and I have been having my period now for almost 3 weeks while on the pill! Should I call my OB? I remember when I was on the pill before I was pg, that I would have my pd during the placebo week, I didnt think you could bleed while on the actual pill. (I am on a generic form of Alesse)

Did I start taking it too early? Also, when is it safe to start to have sex again? Do I have to wait untill the entire month of pill's is "in my system"?

thank you for your help,
francine

It could just be your body getting itself re-adjusted after having your baby. All those hormones running rampid and then you've introduced the pill. So much fun, eh?

Give it some time. If you are concerned, give a call to your OB. I started Seasonale when my son was 4 months old. I had 3 week long break-through bleeding. When I called my OB, she said it was normal and to wait it out. If it didn't improve to call her and we'd discuss other methods.

I've had a lot of breakthrough since I started back on the pill after my second baby.
