hormonal BC wrong choice?

Hi, I'm frustrated. It seems that birth control methods are a toss up of which side effects are more bothersome. So, I've been on ortho tri-cycline lo for nearly two weeks. I'll finish the pack, but don't know if I'll continue with hormones. My face has several new painful cystic legeons, I'm nauseous and bloated, and my blood pressure is up.
I'm thinking about a paraguard again. I had one before, but had it removed after a couple of years due to bad cramping. But that was a couple of years I could well afford right now. My main concerns would be cost, and whether the strings would bother my boyfriend during sex. I think with all hormones, I'll have to deal with the same side effects I'm having now, though I haven't ruled out the progesterone only merinna. I intend to ask the doctor about both when I see her at the end of the month. What do you girls think?

Hi, Jill. Thanks. I'm waiting to hear from the clinic, to see what I should do next. My strongest inclination is to abandon this medication, in hopes of feeling better, but, I'm not sure that's wise. I am also at the tail end of my period right now, which could be contributing to my weakness and fatigue. How am I supposed to lose weight if I'm taking this stuff? Venting! I'll have to talk to my boyfriend, to see if he would mind me switching methods, I would hope he would want a partner who is vibrant and healthy, not the weak, queazy unglamorous mess I feel like now. Gonna go take hot bath and drink a cup of tea. Thanks for the support. How long does it take for the birth control pill to leave your system? Thanks.

Hi, Jill. The nurse said that my pill reaction was severe, and advised me to stop taking it immediately. I guess we're back to condoms and sponges for the time being. I go in a week from Friday, to get an exam, and consult for an IUD. I was wondering if any of you girls had preferrences about paraguard versus marina. I had a copper one before, and the experience wasn't bad. The nurse said she thought I'd be a good IUD candidate given my situation in age, having all ready had a child, and in a monogamous relationship. Going to finish the rest of the ginger brew.
