Yaz and Acne? help!!! =(

I am starting my third month of Yaz, and up until now I have been completely happy with it. I thought I could stand acne if I had that side effect. I have always taken very good care of my skin and I have a remedy or product for just about any type of zit (including the awful cystic ones). I was doing just fine until the middle of my third week into my second month. I got this zit that was deep below the surface of my skin -- I knew not to pick it, and I applied what I normally apply to these zits (and it's in the same spot I sometimes get zits right before my period, so I'm sure it was hormonal), and the treatment did nothing. A week and a half later, that zit is still hanging out on my face and it has not changed a bit, despite my attempts to tame it with various treatments. Also, another zit just like it appeared on my chin (another area for hormonal zits with me), and I have had just as little success getting it to even go down (or come to a head or anything... they're both just red and deep and painful!).
Has anyone else had this experience with Yaz? Do you think it's the Yaz, or could it be something else? (also, do you think it is a permanant side effect?). I'm very distressed about this -- I can't deal with big zits like this that won't ever go away ... if anyone has any suggestions on how to tame them, I would appreciate it!!!!
Thanks in advance for ANY help!!!!!

Although I can't offer you any advice, I really sympathise with you, because I had the same problem with acne when I had my Mirena IUD.
I have noticed a few more zits with Yaz, but mine have only lasted a week or so. They are similar to what you describe, though: painful and never really come to a head. Eventually they seem to just go away. I wish I had a magic solution to suggest to you. My doctor said Yaz was supposed to help with acne, so I figure maybe my body is still getting used to it. I'm only on week 7 of taking them.
Good luck!
I have much experience with cystic acne.
Go to a dermatologist and they can inject the cysts with steriod. They should deflate in 2-3 days, sometimes overnight.
Good luck,

xploziv1,
that does not sound good! I supposed I will wait a little longer -- I am going to call my doctor tomorrow to ask her opinion, but I guess I should at least finish this month (month 3) out and see what happens. After you had the IUD taken out, how long did it take for your skin to return to normal?
grammar-gal:
Did you go on Yaz to help acne, or did your doctor just mention that as a side-benefit...I didn't express acne as a concern either way, so my doctor didn't say anything about it...week 7 is when my zits started in. I've just begun week 9 (3rd pack)... they seem to be getting better now, and they hurt a lot less. Do you think it will be worth it to wait it out another month and see if my skin calms down?
Hi lizjane9,
I had my IUD out just under five weeks ago.
My doctor just mentioned the acne thing. I didn't go on Yaz for any reason other than birth control. I do think it's worth sticking it out. Everyone is different, but I like this pill so far, and the zits have slowed in their size and frequency. I can tell my body is still getting used to being on the pill (I've been spotting slightly this week which is weird for me), but I feel like I'm getting close to adjusting completely. I'm sure after another month or maybe two I'll be fine and so will you.
Good luck!
