Okay, girls, BCP nightmare over, thank god! Very heavy bleeding for the last ten days, weak, dizzy, cold, etc, did I say scared? Never bled like that. Luckily stayed out of the ER, rested at home, taking 800 mgms of ibuprophen every 4 hours to slow the bleeding. Starting to lose the water weight I gained while on pill, been off since Wednesday, resting BP this morning, 110/70 pulse 60, down 20 pts on both counts. Never touching hormones again, badly shaken.
Understandably leary about IUD, though haven't ruled it out. Diaphragms, caps, sheilds. The diaphragm I liked, cap, better, but I tended to get bladder infections sometimes. Is there any way of cutting down risk? I think it would be perfect for us, since we have sex maybe twice a week max. Does anyone have any preferrence as to devices and brands styles used, also effectiveness of each opposed to the other? It's been a decade since I've used either the diaphragm or cap. But I want to again. Going in for exam Friday, excellent idea, though I'm pretty confidant the only effects of my little fling with ortho tricycline lo is some acne, and shattered nerves. Guess I can put that stuff down on the chart as inducing allergy or bad reaction. Thanks.
