Question about stopping BCP and O!

So, i'm curious to know what everyone thinks of this one. My husband and I decided we will TTC#1 in january and I was on BCP for 9 years, so we decided i'd stop stopped after my last pack. So, that means my last active pill was 9/9, and AF came on 9/14. Before going on the pill I was on cycle, approx 32 days, so the same date every month (like the 17th). Well, one thing led to another, and well, we had sex without the condom last night 9/24, hehe :) Anyways, I was trying to figure out what do you think the chances are that I got pregnant? We would both be really excited, because we wouldn't have actually been trying, which I think is the best way to get pregnant anyway, less stres. Just thought i'd throw the question out there and see what everyone else thought. Thanks.

I will add my experience, not to shock, just to uh, remind, that nothing can be planned. hehe! I wanted a spring baby so bad, had it planned to have the whole spring or maybe even the fall off. You see, initially, I didn't want kids, agreed to one for my hubby. Well, after being on BCPs for about 9 yrs myself, I not only didn't get the spring baby, I ended up with totally irregular periods, getting pregnant in Nov when we were NOT really trying (because I sure didn't want to be preggo all summer!!) and having a due date of August 12 with twins. So there. I am also an independent woman and was certainly going back to work. That fell thru too. No daycare at the places I wanted, I fell in love with the kids, and I've wanted 2 more since the boys were 2 weeks old. So I stayed at home for 4 years but I've yet to convince my DH we need 4 kids and I need his support b/c *I* have a lot of outside the house activities.

It took us 9 months to get pregnant (while trying with ovulation sticks and everything) 7 yrs ago and 2 years ago I skipped my pack for 1 month and ended up pregnant, although that one didn't work out. So the short answer is yes you can be pregnant after one month or it can take a while. Just remember, if you are over 30 and you try for more than 6-9 months, consider talking to your obgyn. If you're over 35 don't wait longer than 6 months. If you are under 30 and it's been a year, by all means look into things.

Good luck and have fun! But don't stress or that makes everyone unhappy!
