Hello.

So, I have an odd situation. I realize that I will sound like an idiot.

Well I am using the Ortho Evra patch, just recently started using it even with all the hype about it being bad.

Anyways, my boyfriend and I have been together for three years and just recently had sexual intercourse for the first time a month ago. Neither of us have ever had any sexual contact with anyone else. None at ALL. So I really don't think this could be an STD.

On my week off the patch, my boyfriend and I were afraid to have sex without a condom and we used an expired one (that had spermicide on it) just so that the sperm would not be released inside of me. While he was in me I experienced burning.

After it was over, my vagina was very dry and itchy and burning. I ended up using Monistat on Friday but it hasn't helped at all since then. And it hadn't burned when I urinated but recently that began as well.

My vagina is very red, and has a few itchy bumps( I really don't think this could be an STD, because like I said, neither of us have ever done anything). I think that maybe these and the itching and buring could be from an allergic reaction the spermicide.

We have never used Trojan condoms with spermicide before and I am allergic to a lot of things so I think that really could be it.

Also, I realize never, ever to use expired condoms again...it was a split second thing.

So basically, I am just wondering if this is most likely from the spermicide on the condom (it smelt INCREDIBLY strong) and if it is would my vagina still be irritated from Thursday and how I could make the irritation go away?

I also used Cortisone after I tried the Monistat.

TIA.

It's very possible that you may have had a reaction to the spermicide, the latex, or not using enough lubrication, especially because the condom was expired.
