Nuvaring Screw-up!!!

Hey ladies. I have a question/problem. I have been on Nuvaring for a few months and like it overall. However, this month I started bleeding about a week early (starting yesterday) and today my Nuvaring came out with my tampon without me knowing. At any rate, it's gone. There is no possible way I am pregnant. My fiance and I have been abstaining for now until our wedding night which is in 2 weeks! I was supposed to take my Nuvaring out on Thursday (october 5th). I had it worked out to where I would insert a new one October 12th (before my October 14th wedding). I was happy with this because there would be no possible way I would be on my period for my wedding or honeymoon. The question is, am I okay to wait until the 12th to insert my new Nuvaring? I would hate to mess up a good thing. I tend to break-through bleed and I'd rather not start a new one early. I need some advice badly. Thanks!

Hi lawladybug, welcome back!

So would it be okay to wait until the 6th to insert a new one (day 7 after Nuvaring coming out) on the 6th to begin a totally new cycle? I'd rather risk early breakthrough bleeding toward the end of my honeymoon than have to use back-up the whole time and worry of risk of pregnancy. I want to make sure I get this right. We aren't up for honeymoon babies! :) Thanks for your help.
Good luck to you. I was on the NuvaRing for about a month and a 1/2 (was scheduled to take it out a week from tomorrow). First of all, I hadn't had a migraine in almost 2 straight years (I have the real bad kind with the visual effects - I lost a part of my vision prior to the migraine). I got divorced last January and wasn't on birth control throughout my marriage. I started dating someone in July and decided that birth control was a good idea. ;-) I talked to my gynocologist about my concerns with the migraines, because my PCP told me years ago that he wouldn't prescribe birth control to me because he didn't want me walking into his office at 30 cripled because I had a stroke. Well, my gynocologist told me that I had more of a chance to get a stroke being pregnant than from birth control pills, but wanted me to try the NuvaRing, that a lot of his patients really loved it. I liked it pretty much for the 1st month, sans the HORRIBLE PMS I had not long after I took the ring out. I was really mean, depressed, you name it. Anyway, so I figured that was one of the side effects that my doctor said would go away. Well, the day before I was to put in my new ring, I got my first migraine in almost 2 full years! I have now had 4 (!!!) migraines in a week and a 1/2! Apparently the NuvaRing has so little hormones in it, that most people won't have this problem, but I sure did/am. I talked to the gynocologist this past Wednesday, and he told me to take it out NOW! Don't wait until later, take it out NOW! He said that with my type of migraines (with the visual side effects) that I'm at a greater risk of a stroke. This is the same doctor that said I have more of a risk getting a stroke if I became pregnant!!! Ugh!!! So anyway, he's prescribed some progesterone bcps that I'm to start tomorrow and we'll see how that goes...
The other side effect I didn't like from that ring is the major increase of cervical fluid. Yuck!
