2 weeks after switching

I've been on the bc pill for 2 months now. 2 weeks ago my doctor switched me from the first pill we tried to another that's a higher dose estrogen pill to get rid of the spotting.

Am I still fully protected? There hasn't been any time that I haven't taken the pill, he said since I only had two pills left of the old pill I was taking that I could start taking my new pill so that's what I did. I've been taking it on time and haven't missed any, so I should still be fully protected right?

I haven't had a period since I started and it's been about 3 months since I had my last period. The Dr. said I probably wouldn't have another period again until I stop taking my pill, which I don't plan to for a few years (until I want to get pregnant.) So Since I haven't had a period, this should mean I'm not ovulating and am not fertile and that the pill is working and is fully effective right?

I'm not really sure what the spotting means, but I think it's still okay to have sex while spotting.

Thank you! I haven't missed any pills or been late so I'm not sure why I'm still spotting. I hope it works out too. He said a new study has shown that it's okay for women not to have a period every month. Since I never take any inactive pills doesn't that mean I shouldn't ovulate or be fertile until I stop taking my pills?
