skipping period on ortho tricyclen?!?

Hi. I take ortho tricyclen and want some answers about skipping a period while using it. I have been told that skipping periods while on triphasic pills is hard, but I am still interested in trying it. Is it true that the best way to skip a period while on these pills is to take the first pack in regular order, and then immediately take the second pack in reverse order, and then have your green pill bleeding period? Also, what are the possible side effects from doing this? Are you still protected from pregnancy? Are blood clots more likely? Thank you!

I am on Ortho Tri-C and it is very hard to skip. If I am lucky, 1 times out of 3 I can do it. I am actually going to talk to my gyn about switching to a mono-phasic pill. The hormone swing is really rough for me and since I get migraines, it is even worse. I have had breakthrough spotting more than it is worth it and most of the time I cant stop it even while continuing to take the pills so I just stop for a week and let it happen. I have also found that the PMS is worse for me when skipping on this pill. I hadnt heard anything about reversing the order. Good luck though!

>>if I want to extend my period one week (in order to have it four weeks after my last period), I should finish my first pack and then take the phase 3 pills from a second? <<
