stopping the pill

Hi everyone

Here's my question, not sure if anyone can help. My doctor has suggested I stop taking the pill due to my inability to stop spotting (we've tried so many diff. pills already that I cant even remember the names of most). and still cannot stop spotting, its incredibly aggravating so he suggested I stop them for a while because my body is requesting higher levels of hormones which he does not want to do. My question is, how long should I go without the pill and start again to be able to see the spotting stop?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out or has any input

I am having the same exact problem. :( anyone, anyone? Hey ivcarol my doc said if you are a little overweight like 200 plus then a higher dosage may be what you need. What are you taking? I'm taking yasmin 28 day cycle I think 35mg. I once was on Ovcon 50mg. I tried this and I didn't spot no more but had side effects still nausea, irritable, and headaches. gosh it's hard the pill and all I wish there was a simple answer.

You would want to at least wait it out

Hi everyone

I'm not overweight so thats not the problem with my spotting. My doctor has given me Ovocon 50 and I dont know what else and even that did not stop my spotting. He had mentioned staying off of it for about 3months but I dont know. I guess I don't wanna go too soon and have it happen again and just have it be a waste of time. He even had me do an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok and it was, so I don't even know what pill to use anymore. The one that worked for me for 2yrs was Ortho tri cyclen, once I started spotting with that it never ended. It's just soooo frustrating.

Thanks again for the replys

Yeah I'm still spotting and intercourse made it worse! gosh...what am I gonna do. Another checkup at the doc I guess. Gave yasmin 3 mos periods are lighter, good pill hardly no side effects, but dang spotting...old underwear again this week. Anyone have more advice on what doc has told you about spotting could it be sign of internal problem? Wish my body would adjust...

If you're on the pill, it's extremely likely that the spotting is caused by the hormones in the pill not getting along with your own hormones.
