Hey... just wanted to post a follow up. I had my consultation with the new GYN yesterday and he agreed to do the Essure procedure. I'm scheduled for a surgical consult in 2 weeks. I couldn't have it sooner because I'm leaving on vacation soon and will be gone about 10 days.
The only thing that has me a little nervous is that he said I would be put to sleep during the procedure. It'll be my first time for that.
He said that they do the procedure in an O.R. but it only takes 15 to 20 minutes and said that recovery time IS much less for this than for a tubal, so if I was looking for quick recovery and wasn't bothered by needing to wait for effectiveness then Essure was the right choice for me.
I've got to have a couple of ultrasounds before I have the procedure to make sure there are no fibroid tumors that might get in the way... I haven't been able to get through to the ultrasound department at one hospital to make the appointment yet, but I have a couple other places I can call if I don't get through to an actual person at this place.
That's all for now... my next appointment is October 25th.

Hi
Jill
I had a general anesthetic when I had my wisdom teeth out 12 years ago.
I think what I am mostly nervous about is the possibility that it will make me sick or having a breathing tube put in...
I am the type of person that when facing something new like this I tend to read alot about it on the internet and make myself more nervous...
Good luck with your surgery...
