Tricyclen to Cyclen.. Protected?

My doctor advised me to switch from Ortho Tri-cyclen (which I have been taking for over 2 years) to Ortho cyclen to make it easier for me to alter my schedule by taking extra weeks or packs of pills. I'm starting the new pills tomorrow in place of my old Tri-cyclen.

Is extra protection necessary similar to if I were starting the pill from scratch, or am I protected (as I can't see that my body would have had a chance to ovulate)?

Thanks!
