Is It Safe...

Greetings Everyone,
My question is more like 2, but they kind of relate to each other...I have been experiencing vaginal itching, dryness and slight burning after urination for a little over 2 months. It goes away during my period, only to come back a couple days later. I am in the process of seeking a 2nd opinion from a GYNO at the advise / recommendation of myself, other board members and my doctor, but it takes a little bit of time to get an appointment. My doctor diagnosed me with BV, then a YI, then BI & a YI. I again am experiencing syptoms of BV a couple days after my period. Question 1, after 4 months is it possible for a new side effect to pop up? Could my problem be due to my particular pill?? I noticed that during the day my symptoms seem like they are going away, only to return to being very uncomfortable in the middle of the night -- I take my pill in the evening & think it could be related. Question 2, the other generic that I was on for 8 months before switching pharmacies didn't cause any side effects like that...Is it safe to switch bcp (from one generic of Ortho Novum to another) 4 or 5 days into a new pack?
I know that in the end I need to consult a physician, but I am wondering if I my thinking sounds crazy??
I would appreciate anyone's 2 cents. Thanks in advance. This problem is very annoying.

Hi gustergirlkl, welcome back!

Hi,
It definitely sounds like your pill might be to blame.
Thank you guys so much for your helpful responses. I have been taking an acidophilus supplement since the end of September / beginning of October. A few days ago I really felt 100% better, but as the week progressed, my symptoms came back. I was finally able to get in to see a realy GYNO (instead of PCP), and she told me that I look pretty clear down there, there is no smell and that there where white blood cells found in my swab. She told me that she just thinks it's a vaginal yeast infection & gave me some cream to use for 7 days. I told her I had been previously treated with Diflucan, but she said that it has a high failure rate & to use this stuff.
While I'm not at all thrilled about inserting something into my vagina (I don't really even like to use tampons), if it does the trick and finally makes this issue of mine go away after 2+ months I can't complain.
Again, thank you for all of your thoughts/ ideas over the last few months. This really is a great resource for women!!!!
